Jerome Silberstein: Western Europe, 1940s-1950s
Jerome Silberstein was a professional photographer who worked for JDC from January 1947-August 1955. With over 1,500 photographs in the JDC Archives collection, his images span countries and continents, from Western Europe to North Africa. In postwar Europe, he documented the rebuilding of lives in JDC-supported children’s homes in France and Displaced Persons (DP) camps camps in Germany as well as the resettlement in Norway of chronically ill former displaced persons.
