John Denver: Man of the Mountains
When John Denver arrived in Aspen, it felt to him like coming home—coming home to a place he’d never been before. It was 1970, the same year that the first Earth Day was celebrated. Struck by the beauty and small-town character, he put down roots and always returned after venturing out into the world.
He became known for capturing an environmental message in his music and used his platform as an opportunity to benefit many charitable and environmental causes. He received many civic and humanitarian awards over the years, in addition to numerous music awards and platinum albums.
