November 21-22, 1963
In November 1963, President Kennedy embarked on a two-day visit to Texas to mend political fences within the state’s Democratic Party and unofficially kick-off his 1964 reelection campaign. The visits to San Antonio, Houston, Fort Worth and Dallas provided a rare opportunity for Texans to see both President and Mrs. Kennedy firsthand. Follow the trip to Texas through stories captured in the Museum’s Oral History Collection.
